SMAD Day Event Design

SMAD Day is an annual celebration hosted by the major, bringing together current students, incoming students, and alumni. The event focuses on networking, mentorship, guidance, and fostering a strong sense of community. The core message: The SMAD program offers more than just practical skills and experiences—it connects you to a lifelong, supportive community. For the 2025 event, the creative direction highlights the fusion of immersive technology and the innovative spirit of Media Arts & Design.

Before we nailed down the final idea of utilizing keyboard keys into the event logo, I played around with a "Command" key pattern and slogans fitting with that key.

Once the logo transitioned into a keyboard concept, I incorporated the icons as design elements rather than creating a traditional pattern. The file folder concept was inspired by the retro aesthetic of the keyboard, evoking a sense of vintage organization and structure.
